Cadillac Optiq: A New Addition to the Luxury EV Market

In the competitive landscape of the new energy vehicle market, traditional automakers are also continuously launching new models. Cadillac, in particular, is pacing ahead of other luxury brands. Following the Lyriq, Escalade IQ, and Celestiq, the Optiq, the smallest electric SUV in the family, continues the "IQ" naming convention.

 

The Optiq is based on GM's Ultium platform4. It features a standard dual - motor all - wheel - drive setup, generating around 300 horsepower and 354 lb - ft of torque4. With an 85 - kWh battery pack, it offers an estimated range of 300 miles, and can add 79 miles of range in about 10 minutes with DC fast - charging4. Its exterior boasts distinctive vertical LED headlights and an illuminated "crystal grille", while the interior is equipped with a 33 - inch screen, and features premium materials such as fabric made from 100% recycled materials and "paperwood" veneer4.

Cadillac aims to attract younger buyers with the Optiq3. Priced at around $54,000 in the US, it positions itself as a competitive luxury offering, set to compete with models like the BMW iX3 and Polestar 43. Production is set to begin in the fall of 2024, and the vehicle will be sold in over 10 regions globally, including Europe4. As Cadillac expands its electric vehicle lineup, the Optiq is poised to make a mark in the luxury EV segment.
